Towards explicit regulating-ion-transport: nanochannels with only function-elements at outer-surface

Summary: This study demonstrates that function elements at the outer surface can independently regulate ion transport in nanochannel systems without the presence of inner wall function elements. Nanochannel systems with explicit properties of only outer surface function elements have advantages in promoting power density, increasing ionic selectivity, and accommodating large size probes or targets.

Summary: In this study, a membrane integrating homochiral metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with nanochannels was developed for the sensitive identification and quantification of chiral compounds. Through signal amplification strategy on homochiral nanochannels, the discrimination for chiral recognition is largely amplified, paving a new way for sensitive monitoring and chiral recognition.
