Direct Transverse Relaxation Time Biosensing Strategy for Detecting Foodborne Pathogens through Enzyme-Mediated Sol-Gel Transition of Hydrogels

Luyu Wei et al.

Summary: In this study, a direct T-2 biosensing strategy was developed for detecting foodborne pathogens using the alkaline phosphatase-mediated sol-gel transition of hydrogels. This biosensor demonstrated high sensitivity for detecting Salmonella enteritidis within 2 hours, offering a novel and sensitive platform for pathogen detection by modulating water molecules directly.

Versatile Biosensing Toolkit Using an Electronic Particle Counter

Zhilong Wang et al.

Summary: A versatile biosensing toolkit based on an electronic particle counter has been developed, showing high sensitivity, broad detection range, multiplexed detection capability, easy operation, and low cost. This toolkit can quantify analytes and allow the simultaneous detection of multiple targets with a detection range from pg mL(-1) to μg mL(-1), making it a powerful technique for food safety testing and biomedical diagnosis.

A microfluidic biosensor for rapid and automatic detection of Salmonella using metal-organic framework and Raspberry Pi

Wuzhen Qi et al.

Summary: A microfluidic biosensor was developed for rapid, sensitive, and automatic detection of Salmonella in contaminated foods. The biosensor showed the ability to detect Salmonella Typhimurium with a detection limit of 14 CFU/mL in just 1 hour. The integration of mixing, separation, labelling, and detection on a single microfluidic chip demonstrated automatic operation, fast reaction, less reagent usage, and small size, making it promising for in-field detection of foodborne bacteria.

A novel DNA methylation biosensor by combination of isothermal amplification and lateral flow device

Xiaonan Liu et al.

Summary: This research focuses on developing a novel biosensor using LAMP-LFD technology to detect trace of DNA methylation from heterogeneous cancerous specimens, addressing the complexity in current DNA methylation detection. By introducing new labeling methods and gold magnetic nanoparticles, the biosensor is able to sensitively, rapidly, and accurately identify target variants.
