Chromatin regulatory dynamics of early human small intestinal development using a directed differentiation model

Yu-Han Hung et al.

Summary: This study utilized ChRO-seq technology to uncover chromatin dynamics during early SI development in humans, identifying new markers and enhancer hotspots associated with lineage formation and regional specificity. Additionally, a detailed transcriptional network model was proposed, shedding light on enhancer activity and transcription patterns underlying SI regional patterning.

Epithelial Regeneration After Doxorubicin Arises Primarily From Early Progeny of Active Intestinal Stem Cells

Breanna J. Sheahan et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that DXR effectively depletes aISCs in the small intestine, and subsequent epithelial regeneration relies on nonquiescent early progeny cells of aISCs. By comparing the responses of different cell populations, it was found that early progeny cells exhibit chemoresistant characteristics.

MicroRNA-195 regulates Tuft cell function in the intestinal epithelium by altering translation of DCLK1

Min S. Kwon et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that miR-195 regulates the function of Tuft and Paneth cells in the small intestinal epithelium posttranscriptionally, impacting the mucosal immune response in the gut. Overexpression of miR-195 led to a reduction in the numbers of Tuft and Paneth cells and increased vulnerability of the gut barrier to lipopolysaccharide.
