Numerical investigation on cellular detonation reflection over wedges with rounded corner

Jianxing Li et al.

Summary: Numerical investigations were conducted on the reflection of cellular detonation over wedges with rounded corner and compared with reflections over wedges with straight sharp corner. Different types of reflections and the influence of wedge angles were discussed, indicating that the critical angle for transition varied significantly between concave and straight wedges.

On the interaction between a diffraction shock wave and a cylindrical sulfur hexafluoride bubble

Yuejin Zhu et al.

Summary: The evolution of a cylindrical sulfur hexafluoride bubble in a flow accelerated by a nonuniform diffraction shock was studied, revealing that increasing barrier height weakens the diffraction shock and alters the shape of the undisturbed zone inside the gas bubble. The results also showed that shock focusing occurred at a later time as the barrier height increased, and the intensity of vortex pairs of the gas bubble decreased.

Role of overdriven state of ignition wave in pre-detonators on detonation transition modes in aflat chamber

Qingchun Lei et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that maintaining an overdriven state at the pre-detonator exit significantly enhances the probability of fast detonation initiation in the main chamber, especially for high nitrogen diluting ratio mixtures. The fast detonation initiation mode is illustrated to distribute in an upper-right shrinking 'canyon' in the L-p-beta map.

Influences of incoming flow on re-initiation of cellular detonations

Hongbin Li et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of supersonic incoming flow on detonation re-initiation, showing that the incoming flow can promote re-initiation due to the strengthened leading shock wave. The sensitivity of detonation re-initiation to incoming flow velocity differs between stable and unstable detonations, with the unstable detonation being more sensitive.
