Recent advances on the fundamental physical phenomena behind stability, dynamic motion, thermophysical properties, heat transport, applications, and challenges of nanofluids

Zafar Said et al.

Summary: The rapid development of nanotechnology in the past decade has created numerous opportunities for researchers and engineers. Nanofluids, created by suspending nanoparticles in conventional heat transfer carriers, offer significant advantages in thermal properties. This study addresses the challenge of nanofluid stability and analyzes various forces and physical phenomena affecting the stability. Stable and highly conductive nanofluids can be produced through one-step or two-step production methods, but both methods face the problem of nanoparticle agglomeration.

Computational investigation of multi hydrogen jets at inclined supersonic flow

M. Barzegar Gerdroodbary et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of free stream angles on fuel mixing in scramjet design, showing that a positive angle can lead to more uniform expansion of the fuel mixing zone. Increasing the angles of the free stream reduces the mixing zone when the fuel jet interaction decreases, with a mixing efficiency of -20 degrees about 30% more than other angles.

Hovering efficiency optimization of the ducted propeller with weight penalty taken into account

Yu Hu et al.

Summary: The ducted propeller is more efficient in hovering but the heavy structure reduces overall system efficiency, prompting a comparison with open propellers when weight penalty is considered. In this scenario, lighter ducted propellers perform better at low disc loading, while those with higher aerodynamic hovering efficiency excel at high disc loading. The optimization process generates an L-shaped Pareto front, indicating designs that balance aerodynamic efficiency and weight reduction.

Summary: The study shows that the mixing enhancement mechanism of the cantilevered ramp injector is the shear action in the near flow field and the large-scale vortex structure caused by the cantilevered configuration in the far flow field. This design helps to improve mixing efficiency and reduce total pressure loss.

Influence of Mach Number of Main Flow on Film Cooling Characteristics under Supersonic Condition

Bo Zhang et al.

Summary: The flow and heat transfer characteristics of a film jet inclined to various supersonic situations were numerically studied. The presence of obstacles in supersonic situations led to the generation of complex waves impacting film attachment and the cooling enhancement. Shock waves contributed to the formation of multi-interfacial layered structures and the increase in adhesion of the gas film, resulting in improved film cooling. Additionally, the aerodynamic convergent-divergent state formed in the film hole disrupted the state of supersonic congestion and further enhanced the film cooling effect.

Summary: The research applies a computational method to examine the impacts of coaxial hybrid air and fuel jets on fuel mixing at supersonic cross-flow, revealing significant improvement in fuel penetration and mixing inside the combustion chamber. The study also confirms that the coaxial injector enhances the spiral feature of the fuel jet, promoting fuel mixing downstream and increasing circulation strength in far away from an injector.

Nanofluid thermal performance inside an absorber tube of LFR unit equipped with helical T-shape tape

Z. Ebrahimpour et al.

Summary: In this study, the entropy generation and thermal treatment of nanofluid in a solar system under turbulent regime were investigated, showing high simulation accuracy. Factors such as twist ratio, width ratio, and Reynolds number were found to impact the cooling rate, friction resistance, and heat transfer performance significantly. Increasing the twist and width ratios led to a decrease in wall temperature and pressure drop, as well as an increase in friction resistance and heat transfer enhancement.

Quantum Ostrowski-type inequalities for twice quantum differentiable functions in quantum calculus

Summary: In this paper, an identity for twice quantum differentiable functions is proven. By utilizing the convexity of vertical bar(b)D(q)(2)f vertical bar and vertical bar(a)D(q)(2)f vertical bar, some quantum Ostrowski inequalities for twice quantum differentiable mappings involving q(a) and q(b)-quantum integrals are established. These results are a generalization of already published ones.
