Characterization of nanoparticulated WO3 electrochromic thin films prepared via precipitation reaction of peroxotungstic acid solution

The aged PTA solution containing precipitated WO3 nanoparticles enhanced the electrochromic characteristics of the thin films, showing faster ion intercalation/de-intercalation kinetics, higher transmittance modulation, coloration efficiency, and cyclic stability compared to films fabricated without the aging process.

WO3-ZnFe2O4 heterojunction and rGO decoration synergistically improve the sensing performance of triethylamine

Summary: In this study, rGO/WO3/ZnFe2O4 composites with different proportions were synthesized using various methods to enhance the sensing properties of triethylamine (TEA). The results showed that the ternary composite of 0.8 wt%rGO-9WO(3)-ZnFe2O4 exhibited high response and good selectivity to TEA. The sensing mechanism was proposed to be due to the synergistic effect of heterojunction interface modulation and rGO decoration. This work has significant implications for the development of ternary metal oxide based sensors.

Summary: This study presents a novel approach to activate hierarchical tungsten oxide (WO3) using marine polysaccharide derived carbonized polymer dots (CPDs) as efficient and stable triethylamine sensor, showing extraordinary sensing characteristics with faster response, lower operating temperature, and more accurate detection limit compared to traditional WO3 sensors. The enhanced adsorption-desorption kinetic of WO3 after introducing CPDs is mainly derived from abundant slit-like channels for gas diffusion, desirable defect features as reactive sites, and favorable 0D-2D interface for charge transfer and transport.

Fast electrochromic response and high coloration efficiency of Al-doped WO3 thin films for smart window applications

Boosting charge separation and broadening NIR light response over defected WO3 quantum dots coupled g-C3N4 nanosheets for photocatalytic degrading antibiotics
