Summary: The rapid growth of the pharmaceutical industry due to increasing human population has led to the need for advanced nanomaterial-based electrochemical sensors and biosensors for monitoring pharmaceutical pollutants. This review article surveys state-of-the-art sensors for detecting significant pharmaceutical compounds and highlights strategies for developing high-performance sensors tailored toward specific pharmaceuticals.
