Phosphate incorporation in anodic hafnium oxide memristors

Ivana Zrinski et al.

Summary: The electrochemical fabrication of memristive devices based on Hf was demonstrated, with the impact of different phosphate buffers on conductive filament formation explored. Using 1 M phosphate buffer resulted in the formation of Hf-O-P compounds that hindered phosphate incorporation and improved the performance of anodic Hf memristors. High resolution atomic imaging provided further understanding of memristive switching in HfO2.

Anisotropic Angstrom-Wide Conductive Channels in Black Phosphorus by Top-down Cu Intercalation

Suk Woo Lee et al.

Summary: The intercalation of copper in black phosphorus leads to anisotropic changes in electronic channels, transitioning from semiconductor to semimetal. The research also reveals the intercalation mechanism where copper atoms are inserted from top down, shedding light on the fundamental relationship between microstructure changes and properties in intercalated black phosphorus. The study demonstrates the potential for tailoring anisotropic 2D materials at the angstrom scale.

Synthesis, Exfoliation, and Transport Properties of Quasi-1D van der Waals Fibrous Red Phosphorus

Zhaojian Sun et al.

Summary: In this study, large-size and pure bulk fibrous red phosphorus crystals were successfully fabricated using a chemical vapor transport reaction, revealing the anisotropic electronic structure of fibrous red phosphorus. High aspect ratio b-axis-aligned fibrous red phosphorus nanoribbons were easily prepared through liquid exfoliation, demonstrating impressive p-type transport behavior with a high mobility. These results indicate the great potential of fibrous red phosphorus as a promising channel material and provide a solid foundation for further research on the intrinsic properties of quasi-one-dimensional van der Waals materials.
