Preparation of nanocrystalline LiNbO3 through aqueous solution process using peroxo- Polyniobic acid

Yuta Ito et al.

Summary: Nanocrystalline lithium niobate, LiNbO3, is prepared through an aqueous solution process, starting from peroxo - polyniobic acid solution. The crystalline LiNbO3 has the same structure as conventional LiNbO3 with a small crystallite size. The nanocrystalline LiNbO3 prepared at 500 degrees Celsius exhibits a high ionic conductivity.

In-vivo tracking of harmonic nanoparticles: a study based on a TIGER widefield microscope [Invited]

Laura Vittadello et al.

Summary: The study successfully implements a technique for tracking harmonic nanoparticles in living animals through a redesign of laser spatial parameters, achieving significant experimental results in the blood flow of Drosophila larvae. By adjusting pulse energy, repetition rate, and photon energy, as well as carefully controlling pulse parameters to match the optical properties of the sample, a new approach is provided for addressing biological research questions that require far-field imaging at high frame rates.

Nonlinear wave mixing in lithium niobate thin film

Yuanlin Zheng et al.

Summary: Lithium niobate on insulator (LNOI) is an ideal on-chip platform for studying optical effects and developing photonic devices, with recent advances in the fabrication of high-quality micro/nanostructures on the LNOI platform propelling LN-based integrated photonics to new heights. This review focuses on the latest research advances in lithium niobate thin film (LNTF), particularly in nonlinear wave mixing and their photonics applications. Various second- and third-order nonlinear processes in LNOI micro/nano-structures, such as nonlinear frequency conversion and supercontinuum generation, are discussed, with predictions for photonic integrated circuits (PICs) on the LNOI platform in the nonlinear optics regime.
