Summary: Over the past 20 years, the pharmacological treatment of BPD outpatients in Spain has seen significant changes, particularly a decrease in benzodiazepine usage and an increase in second-generation antipsychotics. The study findings demonstrate that medication therapy is much more prevalent in patients with BPD than recommended by most clinical guidelines.
