Precise Synthesis of Hollow Mesoporous Palladium-Sulfur Alloy Nanoparticles for Selective Catalytic Hydrogenation

Hao Lv et al.

Summary: Hollow mesoporous metals have great potential in catalysis, but their synthesis and structure-performance relationships are still challenging. A new synthetic strategy called the Kirkendall effect in synergistic template (KEST) was developed for the one-step solid-phase synthesis of binary hollow mesoporous palladium-sulfur (h-mesoPdS) alloy nanoparticles. The h-mesoPdS alloy nanoparticles possess a hollow and mesoporous structure, and their electronic structures are optimized to adjust the hydrogenation reaction trends. This work opens a new route for the targeted synthesis of highly efficient nanomaterials in various applications.
