Urchin-Shaped Metal Organic/Hydrogen-Bonded Framework Nanocomposite as a Multifunctional Nanoreactor for Catalysis-Enhanced Synergetic Therapy

Chunling Hu et al.

Summary: Ultrasound-induced sonodynamic therapy (SDT) combined with multifunctional nanoreactor MPG showed enhanced tumor treatment effectiveness through a series of cascade reactions, including chemodynamic therapy (CDT), relieving hypoxia in TME, GO(x) catalysis-enhanced CDT, and efficient SDT. This work broadens the application prospects of porous materials in biomedical research.

Stanene-Based Nanosheets for β-Elemene Delivery and Ultrasound-Mediated Combination Cancer Therapy

Wei Chen et al.

Summary: This study utilized a liquid-phase exfoliation strategy to obtain a new type of two-dimensional stanene-based nanosheets with a narrower band gap, allowing more efficient generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) through ultrasound-triggered separation of electron-hole pairs. Additionally, these nanosheets showed potential for near-infrared-mediated photothermal therapy (PTT) and as nanocarriers for anticancer drug delivery. This research provides general nanoplatforms for SDT-enhanced combination cancer therapy and highlights the utility of 2D stanene nanosheets in the field of nanomedicine.

Conferring Ti-Based MOFs with Defects for Enhanced Sonodynamic Cancer Therapy

Shuang Liang et al.

Summary: Researchers have developed a novel sonosensitizer D-MOF(Ti) for enhanced sonodynamic therapy, which exhibits superior ROS yield and Fenton-like activity under ultrasound irradiation. The synergistic outcomes of sonodynamic and chemodynamic therapy have been achieved using ultrasound as the excitation source.
