Preparation and characterization of ultra-fine ammonium perchlorate crystals using a microfluidic system combined with ultrasonication

Zhenye Ma et al.

Summary: A novel ultrasonic-assisted microfluidic system was developed in this study for the safe and rapid preparation of ultrafine ammonium perchlorate crystals with controllable size and morphology. The system uses a flow-focused micromixer as a reactor to achieve a high degree of continuous supersaturation, resulting in the formation of smaller-sized particles.

Compatibility between Activity and Selectivity in Catalytic Oxidation of Benzyl Alcohol with Au-Pd Nanoparticles through Redox Switching of SnOx

Pingping Wu et al.

Summary: The study found that a modified catalyst consisting of nanosized Au-Pd particles with SnOx can enhance benzaldehyde selectivity by modulating the affinity of reactants and products on the catalyst surface through redox switching. Additionally, the presence of SnOx promotes improved catalytic activity.

Tailored d-Band Facilitating in Fe Gradient Doping CuO Boosts Peroxymonosulfate Activation for High Efficiency Generation and Release of Singlet Oxygen

Shiyu Zuo et al.

Summary: A unique structure of Fe surface-gradient-doped CuO has been shown to improve the catalytic efficiency in removing pollutants from water, particularly in the processes of adsorption, electron transfer, and desorption. The gradient doping leads to an imbalanced charge distribution in the crystal structure, promoting the efficiency of peroxymonosulfate adsorption and electron transport. This research provides a scientific basis for expanding the purification of toxic organic pollutants in complex water environments through heterogeneous catalytic oxidation.

Trends and descriptors for tuning CO2 electroreduction to synthesis gas over Ag and Au supported on transition metal carbides and nitrides

Yao Nian et al.

Summary: Transition metal carbides (TMCs) and nitrides (TMNs) of Group VB elements were used as supports to tune the CO2RR activity and CO/H-2 ratios over Ag- and Au-based electrocatalysts. TaC and TaN were identified as promising supports for Ag- and Au-based electrocatalysts for CO2RR towards synthesis gas production.
