Magnetoresponsive nanozyme: magnetic stimulation on the nanozyme activity of iron oxide nanoparticles

Yuan He et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of magnetic field stimulation on the peroxidase activity of IONPs with different magneto-thermal conversion abilities. It was found that the activity was effectively amplified without solution temperature rise, and the degree of enhancement was closely related to the magnetic heating ability of the IONPs.

Tumor-Specific Activatable Nanocarriers with Gas-Generation and Signal Amplification Capabilities for Tumor Theranostics

Chao Qi et al.

Summary: This study presents a safe, degradable, tumor-specific nanocarrier that can be activated in the acidic tumor microenvironment to provide diagnostic and therapeutic functions suitable for tumor treatment. The nanocarrier releases Mn2+ ions and CO2 gas in the acidic TME, enabling magnetic resonance and ultrasound imaging of tumors, and can be loaded with the anticancer drug doxorubicin for effective tumor inhibition both in vitro and in vivo. This tumor-specific nanocarrier shows promise for clinical translation.

Nanocatalytic Theranostics with Glutathione Depletion and Enhanced Reactive Oxygen Species Generation for Efficient Cancer Therapy

Lian-Hua Fu et al.

Summary: Chemodynamic therapy (CDT) is a promising method for killing cancer cells by converting intracellular hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) into highly toxic hydroxyl radicals ((OH)-O-center dot). An intelligent nanocatalytic theranostics, PGC-DOX, was developed to address the limitations of endogenous H2O2 and high GSH levels in tumor cells, leading to efficient cancer therapy. The system combines H2O2 self-supply, GSH-elimination, and DOX-induced chemotherapy to effectively inhibit tumor growth with minimal side effects in vivo.

Self-assembled all-inclusive organic-inorganic nanoparticles enable cascade reaction for the detection of glucose

Ximei Sun et al.

Summary: This study presents an all-inclusive nanoparticle system for colorimetric and photothermal bioassay of glucose. The nanoparticles utilize TMB as chromogenic substrates and GOx/HRP as signal amplifier enzymes, demonstrating improved enzymatic catalytic efficiency and stability compared to traditional methods. The incorporation of NIR laser-driven photothermal effects allows for quantitative photothermal detection of glucose. This unique technique holds promise for developing simple and precise bioassay methods.
