Engineering fluorinated-cation containing inverted perovskite solar cells with an efficiency of >21% and improved stability towards humidity

Xiao Wang et al.

Summary: Efficient and stable perovskite solar cells with simple active layers are desirable for manufacturing, but the formation of a two-dimensional component in the perovskite film compromises the performance. In this study, low temperature fabrication of highly efficient and stable inverted solar cells was achieved by adding a fluorinated lead salt, resulting in increased crystal size and orientation, as well as enhanced stability under high humidity conditions.

Mixed-Phase Low-Dimensional Perovskite-Assisted Interfacial Lead Directional Management for Stable Perovskite Solar Cells with Efficiency over 24%

Guozhen Liu et al.

Summary: The study successfully tackled the impact of Pb-based defects on the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells by designing a low-dimensional perovskite (LDP) using an amphoteric heterocyclic cation. This approach led to increased efficiency and overall stability of the devices, opening up new possibilities for practical application in the field of perovskite photovoltaic devices through directional management of Pb-based interface defects.
