Summary: The study found that monsoon winds in the Indonesian seas predominantly blow along paths formed by coastlines of large islands and small islands chains. The Australian winter monsoon is stronger and more persistent than the East Asian winter monsoon, and the onset of each monsoon differs by approximately 40 days between the east and west of the Indonesian seas. Additionally, diurnally varying wind amplitudes reach their annual maximum in September in the southern Indonesian seas.
