Analysis of fully developed mixed convection in open-ended annuli with viscous dissipation

N. Girish et al.

Summary: This study investigated the fully developed mixed convective flow in the vertical annuli with two annular passages, considering the influence of viscous dissipation through numerical and analytical methods. The analysis revealed the effects of baffle location and viscous dissipation on fluid flow, temperature profiles, and thermal transport rates. Excellent agreement was observed between analytical and numerical solutions, highlighting the roles of viscous dissipation and baffle location in the flow patterns, temperature distributions, and heat transport rates.

Effects of half-sinusoidal nonuniform heating during MHD thermal convection in Cu-Al2O3/water hybrid nanofluid saturated with porous media

Nirmalendu Biswas et al.

Summary: This study aims to demonstrate a method for enhancing heat transfer through porous media using a hybrid nanofluid of Cu-Al2O3/water during magnetohydrodynamic flow. By heating a square cavity at the bottom with different frequencies of half-sinusoidal function, along with a uniform magnetic field, the study confirmed that hybrid nanofluid flow with multi-frequency spatial heating can improve thermal performance significantly.

Natural convection of Al2O3-water nanosuspension in a semi-open domain with composite fin

Elena V. Shulepova et al.

Summary: The study focused on the mathematical simulation of free convective thermal transmission of alumina-water nanoliquid in a semi-open cavity with internal fins and obstacles. The analysis showed that an increase in solid particle concentration in nanoliquid leads to heat transport degradation, while finding an optimal position for the inner body can enhance energy transport intensity.

Buoyant convective flow of different hybrid nanoliquids in a non-uniformly heated annulus

N. Keerthi Reddy et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of axially varying temperature with sinusoidal thermal profiles on an annular enclosure containing different hybrid nanoliquids. Numerical simulations show that the buoyant motion and thermal dissipation rate can be effectively controlled by proper selection of phase deviation and combination of nanoparticles. The aim is to enhance the thermal transport by identifying suitable nanoparticle combinations and geometrical parameters.

Combination Effect of Baffle Arrangement and Hybrid Nanofluid on Thermal Performance of a Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger Using 3-D Homogeneous Mixture Model

Mashhour A. Alazwari et al.

Summary: The study found that adding nanoparticles to the distilled water or increasing the fluid's Reynolds number can improve the heat transfer performance in shell and tube heat exchangers, especially at a baffle angle of 135 degrees. Additionally, increasing the baffle angle resulted in more fluid blocking areas, leading to increased pressure drop and friction.

Numerical simulation for the steady nanofluid boundary layer flow over a moving plate with suction and heat generation

M. Ferdows et al.

Summary: This study theoretically investigates the convective flow of a viscous fluid over a moving plate by adopting different types of nanoparticles, considering radiation, internal heat generation, and viscous dissipation effects. The results show that temperature is consistently increased with a rising Eckert number of nanofluids, but strongly reduced with rising values of radiation term. Heat transfer coefficient is consistently increased with a high convective heat nanoparticle volume fraction in the medium. Extensive visualization and numerical simulations are done to analyze the effects of various emerging parameters on flow rate and heat distributions.

A Theoretical Investigation on the Heat Transfer Ability of Water-Based Hybrid (Ag-Au) Nanofluids and Ag Nanofluids Flow Driven by Electroosmotic Pumping Through a Microchannel

Javaria Akram et al.

Summary: This article investigates the peristaltically regulated electroosmotic pumping of water-based hybrid (Ag-Au) nanofluids through an inclined asymmetric microfluidic channel in a porous environment. A newly developed modified Buongiorno model is employed to predict the heat transfer attributes, and the influence of various physical parameters on the pumping characteristics is assessed through graphical results.
