Salutogenic qualities of midwifery care: A best-fit framework synthesis

Laura A. Mathias et al.

Summary: This study explores women's experiences in midwifery care and identifies salutogenic aspects of midwifery care using best-fit framework synthesis. Key concepts of comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness were developed to highlight how midwives support women's health in cognitive, behavioral, and emotional/spiritual aspects. This research can contribute to incorporating salutogenic theory into midwifery policy and practice to promote a health and wellness-focused agenda.

Challenges in applying the short Childbirth Self-Efficacy Inventory (CBSEI-C32) in German

Laura A. Zinsser et al.

Summary: Most pregnant women provided positive feedback on the German version of CBSEI-C32, finding it helpful for considering coping strategies during labor and birth. However, some items were not well understood and may not reflect contemporary concepts of childbirth self-efficacy. Further research is needed to identify appropriate coping strategies and enhance empowerment for women during childbirth.
