Recent trends of supercritical CO2 Brayton cycle: Bibliometric analysis and research review

Aofang Yu et al.

Summary: The supercritical CO2 Brayton cycle has been widely applied in various heat sources in recent decades due to its compact structure and high efficiency. Analysis shows that the United States is the leading country in S-CO2 research, followed by China and South Korea. Future development should focus on accelerating the commercialization of S-CO2 power systems.

Close Supercritical Versus Inverse Brayton Cycles for Power Supply, Using Waste of a Biogas-Driven Open Brayton Cycle

Mohammad Ebadollahi et al.

Summary: The study found that there is no single optimal solution in selecting the best bottoming cycle considering energy, exergy, exergoeconomic, and exergoenvironmental metrics simultaneously. A trade-off should be deliberated in selecting the best case in the design process. The integrated BC/CSBC system is superior to the BC/IBC system in terms of thermodynamics but not commendable in terms of economic and exergoenvironmental viewpoints.

Multi-objective capacity optimization of a hybrid energy system in two-stage stochastic programming framework

Rong Li et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the capacity optimization of a hybrid energy system through a multi-objective framework and scenario-based approach to reflect the random characteristics of resources. The effectiveness of the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm is validated for finding the Pareto set. Additionally, the economic benefits of adding an electric heater to the system were analyzed, showing a reduction in the life cycle cost.

Exergoeconomic Analysis of a Novel Hybrid System by Integrating the Kalina and Heat Pump Cycles with a Nitrogen Closed Brayton System

Alireza Pirmohamadi et al.

Summary: This study proposed a nitrogen Brayton cycle system for sodium-cooled fast reactors, and the integration of the topping system with bottoming cycles improved the system performance. Energy, exergy, and exergoeconomic analyses showed that the system had a thermal efficiency of 34% and an exergetic efficiency of 62%, with the topping system of the nitrogen Brayton cycle being the main cause of exergy destruction.
