Work harassment in the UK and US nursing context

Ben Farr-Wharton et al.

Summary: This paper examines work harassment, a type of negative work behavior, using the theoretical frameworks of Social Exchange Theory (SET) and Similarity-Attraction (SA). The findings show that Leader Member Exchange (LMX) fully mediates the path from LMX to wellbeing for UK nurses, but only partially mediates the same path for nurses in the USA. This suggests that SET provides a better explanation for work harassment among UK nurses, while SA theory better explains the experience of US nurses.

Transforming public health using value lens and extended partner networks

Mohan R. Tanniru

Summary: This paper argues that public health transformation strategy must align the goals of all stakeholders involved, including allowing partners and the public to contextualize preventive practices to see their value in the near term and as relevant. It also emphasizes the importance of expanding the number of partners public health works with and helping them connect with the public to seek shared alignment in the shared goals of value fulfillment and value-in-use.
