What drives willingness to purchase and stated buying behavior toward organic food? A Stimuluse-Organisme-Behaviore-Consequence (SOBC) perspective

Shalini Talwar et al.

Summary: The global interest in organic food consumption is increasing, with limited research on Japan's organic food market and low retail sales of organic food in Japan. This study examines factors influencing consumers' willingness to purchase and actual buying behavior of organic food in Japan, providing critical implications for researchers, marketers, and retailers.

Facilitators and inhibitors of organic food buying behavior

Anushree Tandon et al.

Summary: Consumer interest in purchasing organic food is rising globally due to increasing personal-health consciousness, but this interest does not always translate into stated preferences for buying organic food, especially in developed economies like Japan. Health consciousness positively influences both facilitators and inhibitors, and stated buying behavior is influenced by both facilitators and inhibitors. The study findings also indicate that buying involvement (BI) and gender play roles in moderating the associations between factors and stated buying behavior.

The value proposition of food delivery apps from the perspective of theory of consumption value

Puneet Kaur et al.

Summary: This study extends the Theory of Consumption Values (TCV) to examine the values that drive food-delivery application (FDA) use, finding that epistemic value is the chief driver of purchase intentions towards FDAs. Other factors include conditional value, price, and social value, while food safety and health consciousness did not show significant association with purchase intentions towards FDAs. The findings are insightful for FDA service providers looking to influence consumer choices and purchase intentions.

What drives brand love and purchase intentions toward the local food distribution system? A study of social media-based REKO (fair consumption) groups

Sushant Kumar et al.

Summary: This study addresses the gap in research on local food consumption by examining the antecedents of brand love for both the local food distribution system and the local food it distributes. Findings indicate that altruism is associated with internal state, such as desire for labeling, supporting local producers, and satisfaction with labeling, which are in turn associated with brand love for the local food distribution system. Moreover, purchase intentions positively mediate the association of the four internal states with brand love.
