Social interaction and the formation of residents' low-carbon consumption behaviors: An embeddedness perspective

Jianhua Yin et al.

Summary: Based on social interaction and embeddedness theory, this study used structural equation modeling to analyze the impact of network size and relationship strength on Chinese residents' low-carbon consumption behaviors. The empirical results indicate that relationship strength directly promotes low-carbon consumption, while network size has an indirect effect through social norms. Multiple group analysis revealed differences among demographic groups and proposed policy recommendations to promote low-carbon consumption behaviors.

Impact of carbon tax on enterprise operation and production strategy for low-carbon products in a co-opetition supply chain

Huiqin Zhang et al.

Summary: The study developed four models based on Stackelberg game theory to investigate production and operation strategies of two manufacturers in a co-opetition supply chain under a carbon tax mechanism. Optimal strategies were derived and the effects of carbon tax and market competition on low-carbon product selection were analyzed.

Farmer's willingness to adopt private and collective biogas facilities: An agent-based modeling approach

Vanessa Burg et al.

Summary: The study investigates Swiss farmers' behavior towards anaerobic digestion and the potential impact of changing incentives. The main driver for farmers' participation in manure-based biogas production is revenue for produced energy, and increasing energy revenues can enable the establishment of more biogas facilities. However, mobilizing the full resources potential requires substantial changes at various levels.

Do governmental subsidies improve the financial performance of China's new energy power generation enterprises?

Guoliang Luo et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of governmental subsidies and technological innovation on the financial performance of China's new energy power generation enterprises. It found that governmental subsidies have a negative impact on short-term financial performance but a positive impact on long-term financial performance. Technological innovation subsidies have a single threshold effect on short-term financial performance, and there are differences between supportive subsidies and technological innovation subsidies on the financial performance of new energy power generation enterprises.

Summary: This study investigates the promotion impact of government subsidies on the diffusion of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and simulates the NEV diffusion process in different networks using an evolutionary game model. The results show that different network topologies have varying effects on NEV diffusion.

Assessing energy poverty and its effect on CO2 emissions: The case of China

Jun Zhao et al.

Summary: This study examines the dynamic impact of energy poverty on CO2 emissions in China from 2002 to 2017, revealing that energy poverty may accelerate the growth of CO2 emissions. In regions with high levels of energy poverty, there is a bidirectional causal link between energy poverty and CO2 emissions.

How does fiscal decentralization affect CO2 emissions? The roles of institutions and human capital

Zeeshan Khan et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of fiscal decentralization on CO2 emissions and finds that fiscal decentralization has a positive effect on environmental quality, which is further strengthened by improvements in institutional quality and human capital. The results also show that there are one-way effects from fiscal decentralization, GDP, human capital, eco-innovation, and institutional quality on CO2 emissions, with weaker reverse effects.
