The effects of power system flexibility on the efficient transition to renewable generation

Paul Neetzow

Summary: This study examines the impact of different types of power generation facilities on the efficient transition to renewable energies during the transition period. The research found that early VRE generation replaces flexible generation capacity, which is later replaced by inflexible generation, and increasing flexible generation facilities can improve VRE deployment speed.
