Psychological Resilience as a Protective Factor for Depression and Anxiety Among the Public During the Outbreak of COVID-19

Summary: During the outbreak of COVID-19, a significant number of individuals experienced symptoms of depression (41.0%) and anxiety (37.2%), with lower education levels, younger age, and being unmarried being identified as risk factors. Female gender, active coping styles, and optimism were protective factors for depression, while passive coping styles and higher anxiety scores were risk factors. Optimism was a protective factor for anxiety.
