Coaxial spectroscopic imaging ellipsometry for volumetric thickness measurement

Seung Woo Lee et al.

Summary: The proposed spectroscopic imaging ellipsometry allows for measuring spectral ellipsometric signals in the entire field of view simultaneously using a coaxial optical structure. By encoding ellipsometric parameters into high frequency in the spectral domain and measuring them with an imaging Michelson interferometer, the method eliminates the need for operating polarization components. The effectiveness of volumetric thickness measurement was confirmed by comparing results with a commercial ellipsometer on SiO2/Si samples with varying thicknesses.

Confocal laser scanning and 3D reconstruction methods for the subsurface damage of polished optics

Huanyu Sun et al.

Summary: The paper introduces a method for detecting subsurface damage (SSD) in large polished optics that is difficult to observe, using confocal laser scanning and three-dimensional reconstruction techniques. This method can quickly and accurately display the morphology of SSDs and provide quantitative evaluations of SSDs.

Self-reference dispersion correction for chromatic confocal displacement measurement

Jiao Bai et al.

Summary: Dispersion is a common phenomenon in broadband optical systems that affects displacement measurements on sample surfaces. A novel strategy using self-reference spectrum corrects the dispersion from unstable light sources or alterable sample surfaces, making the focus-wavelength unaffected. Robustness tests demonstrate that the self-reference dispersion correction significantly improves measurement accuracy against different light sources and sample surfaces.
