Status of insecticide resistance and biochemical characterization of chlorpyrifos resistance in Sogatella furcifera (Hemiptera:Delphacidae) in Sichuan Province, China

Summary: The white-backed planthopper Sogatella furcifera has developed high resistance levels to chlorpyrifos and thiamethoxam in different areas of Sichuan Province, while showing sensitivity or low resistance levels to imidacloprid and buprofezin. The overexpression of the P450 gene CYP6ER4 may contribute to the development of chlorpyrifos resistance in S. furcifera, as indicated by gene expression analysis and RNA interference experiments.
