KPNA4 regulated by miR-548b-3p promotes the malignant phenotypes of papillary thyroid cancer

Ling Feng et al.

Summary: The study found that KPNA4 is upregulated in PTC tissues and cells, and its overexpression promotes cell proliferation and invasion, while silencing KPNA4 has the opposite effects and induces apoptosis in PTC cells. Additionally, KPNA4 is negatively regulated by miR-548b-3p, which inhibits cell proliferation and invasion but promotes apoptosis in PTC cells. Overexpression of miR-548b-3p and downregulation of KPNA4 both inhibit tumor growth in mouse models.

Apoptosis-Inducing TNF Superfamily Ligands for Cancer Therapy

Olivia A. Diaz Arguello et al.

Summary: Cancer, a complex disease marked by evasion of apoptosis, can potentially be treated by inducing apoptosis in cancerous cells. Among the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) protein family, certain ligands possess apoptosis-inducing capabilities. Various recombinant TNF apoptosis-inducing ligands have been developed over time to improve their effectiveness in cancer treatment.
