Summary: Eosinophils have diverse biological functions, playing a critical role in eosinophil-associated diseases and contributing to homeostasis, host defense, immune regulation, antiinflammatory, and anti-tumorigenic activities. Recent studies have highlighted emerging roles of eosinophils in steady-state conditions and their involvement in pathological conditions, reflecting the heterogenous features and distinct subpopulations of eosinophils.
