lncRNA TINCR SNPs and Expression Levels Are Associated with Bladder Cancer Susceptibility

Chuanbing Xu et al.

Summary: The study revealed that two SNP loci of lncRNA TINCR are associated with bladder cancer susceptibility risk, and these loci are correlated with lncRNA TINCR expression levels. Further validation is needed for additional studies.

Variant of SNPs at lncRNA NEAT1 contributes to gastric cancer susceptibility in Chinese Han population

Xuanke Ji et al.

Summary: This study suggests that genetic variations in NEAT1 are significantly associated with the risk of gastric cancer, particularly the G > A variant of rs3825071 which may increase susceptibility by enhancing NEAT1 expression.

Circulating long non-coding RNAs HOTAIR, Linc-p21, GAS5 and XIST expression profiles in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: association with R-CHOP responsiveness

Mahmoud A. Senousy et al.

Summary: In this study, plasma HOTAIR, GAS5, and XIST were introduced as potential non-invasive diagnostic tools for DLBCL, with HOTAIR and GAS5 identified as candidates for evaluating therapy response and HOTAIR as a predictor of R-CHOP failure. Protein-protein interaction networks linked to drug response were constructed through bioinformatics analysis, providing novel surrogates for future predictive studies in personalized medicine.

linc-ROR facilitates hepatocellular carcinoma resistance to doxorubicin by regulating TWIST1-mediated epithelial-mesenchymal transition

Yuanbiao Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that linc-ROR interacts with TWIST1 to induce EMT, leading to increased resistance of HCC cells to DOX. Furthermore, overexpression of TWIST1 was able to inhibit the sensitivity of HCC cells to DOX induced by linc-ROR knockdown.

LncRNA polymorphisms and upper gastrointestinal cancer risk

Esmat Abdi et al.

Summary: Upper gastrointestinal cancers, such as oral, esophageal, and gastric cancers, have high mortality rates and are often diagnosed at advanced stages. Long non-coding RNAs play crucial roles in the development of these cancers and may serve as potential targets for targeted therapy. Genetic variations associated with lncRNAs could have predictive value for cancer risk and treatment outcomes.

LncRNA-HOTAIR activates autophagy and promotes the imatinib resistance of gastrointestinal stromal tumor cells through a mechanism involving the miR-130a/ATG2B pathway

Jinyan Zhang et al.

Summary: This study revealed that HOTAIR targets the ATG2B inhibitor miR-130a to upregulate cell autophagy levels, promoting imatinib resistance in GIST cells.

Summary: The study analyzed gene polymorphisms in KCNQ1 and KCNQ1OT1 and found their association with genetic susceptibility and survival in a Chinese Han population with gastric cancer. Specific genotypes were identified as independent predictors of GC susceptibility, while others independently predicted the survival of GC patients.

Silencing of CASC8 inhibits non-small cell lung cancer cells function and promotes sensitivity to osimertinib via FOXM1

Xizi Jiang et al.

Summary: The study identified CASC8 as a cancer susceptibility gene closely related to lung cancer, with high expression associated with poor prognosis in patients with lung adenocarcinoma. Silencing CASC8 inhibited proliferation, migration, and invasion in non-small cell lung cancer cell lines, and also promoted sensitivity to osimertinib through FOXM1. This pathway may offer new treatment options for lung cancer patients resistant to targeted therapies.
