Fatty acid amide hydrolase is lower in young cannabis users

Maya R. Jacobson et al.

Summary: Lower levels of FAAH enzyme were found in the brains of adult cannabis users during early abstinence, with higher cannabis use throughout the past year correlating with decreased [C-11]CURB binding. The study also detected lower [C-11]CURB binding in a younger cohort with less cumulative cannabis exposure, confirming and extending previous findings.

Comorbidity of ADHD and adult bipolar disorder: A systematic review and meta -analysis

Carmen Schiweck et al.

Summary: ADHD and BD have a high degree of comorbidity in adults, with substantial heterogeneity in comorbidity rates. Patients with comorbid ADHD tend to have an earlier onset of BD. Cultural, geographical, and methodological differences should be considered for evaluating diagnostic criteria to prevent misdiagnosis and provide optimal care for both disorders.
