Quiver origami: discrete gauging and folding

Summary: We study two types of discrete operations on Coulomb branches of 3dN = 4 quiver gauge theories, generalizing previous work and introducing novel wreathed quiver theories. We also study quiver folding which produces Coulomb branches of non-simply laced quivers, explicitly describing them in terms of generators and relations including mass deformations.

Summary: This paper mainly discusses the five-dimensional and four-dimensional superconformal field theories arising from canonical threefold singularities in M-theory and Type IIB string theory. It studies their Coulomb and Higgs branches, and proposes a relation between the resulting moduli spaces through compactification, mirror symmetry, and gauging. By applying this framework, it determines the Higgs branches of some 5d SCFTs and their magnetic quivers. Finally, it also computes the higher-form symmetries of the 4d and 5d SCFTs.

The magnetic quivers are derived using three different methods, leading to the suggestion of a larger set of SCFTs in four dimensions than previously expected by exploring different ungauging schemes on different nodes.

5d and 4d SCFTs: canonical singularities, trinions and S-dualities

Summary: Canonical hypersurface singularities in M-theory and Type IIB string theory lead to 5d and 4d superconformal field theories (SCFTs), respectively. This paper focuses on a specific class of 'trinion' singularities in Type IIB, which give rise to 4d N = 2 SCFTs known as Dpb(G)-trinions. Reducing these 4d and 5d SCFTs to 3d N = 4 theories helps determine their electric and magnetic quivers.
