Progress in Materials Development for Flexible Perovskite Solar Cells and Future Prospects

Snehangshu Mishra et al.

Summary: Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have shown significant progress over the past decade, with a record efficiency of 25.5%. Flexible perovskite solar cells (fPSCs) have emerged as a promising technology for various niche applications, offering lightweight, bendable features and easy integration over any surface. The development of materials for fPSCs based on flexible substrates and the potential for future applications are also discussed.

Interfacial toughening with self-assembled monolayers enhances perovskite solar cell reliability

Zhenghong Dai et al.

Summary: The use of iodine-terminated self-assembled monolayer (I-SAM) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) leads to increased adhesion toughness at the interface, improved power conversion efficiency, reduced hysteresis, and enhanced operational stability. This is attributed to a decrease in hydroxyl groups at the interface and higher interfacial toughness achieved with I-SAM treatment.

Artemisinin-passivated mixed-cation perovskite films for durable flexible perovskite solar cells with over 21% efficiency

Longkai Yang et al.

Summary: The use of artemisinin as a passivation material in flexible perovskite solar cells has significantly improved their performance by enhancing V-OC and FF, reducing nonradiative recombination, and achieving a high PCE of 21.10%. The interaction between artemisinin molecules and uncoordinated Pb2+ ions has been shown to suppress the formation of deep-level trap defects and Pb clusters, leading to excellent stability under various aging conditions.
