Emulating Quantum Teleportation of a Majorana Zero Mode Qubit

He-Liang Huang et al.

Summary: A quantum simulation of topological quantum computing was performed by teleporting a qubit encoded in Majorana zero modes of a Kitaev chain. The teleportation circuit, realized using only braiding operations, benefited from Majorana encoding for error detection and correction, leading to an improvement in average fidelity of teleported states.

Heat Generation by Electrical Current in a Quantum Dot Hybridized to Majorana Nanowires

Zhu-Hua Wang

Summary: In this study, heat current generated by electronic transport through a quantum dot coupled to both a phonon bath and a Majorana nanowire hosting Majorana bound states was theoretically investigated using non-equilibrium Green's function technique. The results showed that the electrical current can be enhanced or suppressed by adjusting the parameters within certain bias voltage regimes, with the direct hybridization between the Majorana bound states reversing the effects on the current's magnitude. The study also found that heat generation by the electrical current can be fully adjusted by the dot-Majorana bound states coupling, direct hybridization between the bound states, and positions of the quantum dot level, providing insights for controlling waste heat in low-dimensional circuits.

Majorana entropy revival via tunneling phases

Sergey Smirnov

Summary: This study focuses on measuring Majorana entropy to reveal the Majorana nature of an initial equilibirum state in a nanoscale device, dealing subsequently with nonlocal pair of non-Abelian Majorana bound states. Experimental results show that even with significant suppression of tunneling amplitude of one Majorana mode, Majorana entropy is ruined, emphasizing the importance of adjusting tunneling phases intelligently to successfully observe the Majorana plateau. Practical feasibility of appropriate Majorana entropy measurements is demonstrated with parameters achievable in modern labs.
