COR/LEA Proteins as Indicators of Frost Tolerance in Triticeae: A Comparison of Controlled versus Field Conditions

Klara Kosova et al.

Summary: Studies have shown that cold acclimation and vernalization processes play a significant role in the acquired frost tolerance of plants, as well as in the accumulation of COR/LEA proteins in winter-type Triticeae. Field experiments are necessary to understand the factors and relationships influencing dehydrin relative accumulation under controlled cold acclimation treatments versus field trials.
