Depression, anxiety and stress among caregivers of adolescents with cerebral palsy in rural Bangladesh

Rosalie Power et al.

Summary: The study found that caregivers of adolescents with cerebral palsy in rural Bangladesh are at a higher risk of depression and stress compared to caregivers of adolescents without disability, with factors such as caregiver age, adolescent mental health, household overcrowding, and adolescent hearing impairment predicting mental health outcomes. Initiatives to address caregiver mental health should focus on adolescent mental health problems and poverty reduction measures to improve social and economic capital in low- and middle-income countries.
