Prediction of Visual Field Progression from OCT Structural Measures in Moderate to Advanced Glaucoma

Kouros Nouri-Mahdavi et al.

Summary: The study aimed to test the hypothesis that visual field (VF) progression can be predicted from baseline and longitudinal optical coherence tomography (OCT) structural measurements. Results showed that VF progression can be accurately predicted using elastic net logistic regression and machine learning, with models using macular ganglion cell/inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) structural variables performing better than those using retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) variables.
