Gagan Deep Sharma et al.

Summary: This study examines the impact of agriculture value-added, pesticide use, renewable energy adoption, human capital, and economic growth on greenhouse gas emissions in BIMSTEC countries. The findings suggest a U-shaped relationship between agriculture value-added and emissions, with human capital having a negative effect and pesticide use having a positive effect. The moderation effect of human capital and renewable energy on emissions is also discussed, highlighting the potential of renewable energy adoption in mitigating the impact of pesticide use on greenhouse gas emissions.

Unveiling the heterogeneous impacts of export product diversi fi cation on renewable energy consumption: New evidence from G-7 and E-7 countries

Umer Shahzad et al.

Summary: This study explores the effects of export product diversification on renewable energy consumption using panel data of 14 countries (G-7 and E-7) from 1990 to 2017. The results show that product diversification policies have positive effects on renewable energy demand for both developed and emerging economies. Interestingly, a non-linear relationship is found between export diversification and renewable energy, with different threshold levels and directions for the two panels.

Summary: This study examines the effects of increased income and renewable energy on environmental quality, finding that increased income moderates the ratio of consumption of renewable energy to CO(2) emissions and can negatively affect the link between renewable energy and CO(2) emissions beyond a critical threshold. Empirical outcomes suggest that increased income contributes more to nonrenewable energy consumption and environmental pollution.
