In vivo study of the efficacy of bupivacaine-eluting novel soy protein wound dressings in a rat burn model

Daniella Goder et al.

Summary: Dealing with wound related pain is important for treatment. A bilayer soy protein-based wound dressing was developed for controlled release of pain killers. In vitro and in vivo experiments showed that the dressing successfully reduced pain levels, providing a promising new concept in pain management.

Liposomal Bupivacaine (Bupigel) Demonstrates Minimal Local Nerve Toxicity in a Rabbit Functional Model

Yaelle Bavli et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that the novel ultra-long-acting local anesthetic Bupigel showed no neurotoxicity on rabbit sciatic nerve, while lidocaine and free bupivacaine posed a risk of neural damage. Electrophysiological testing showed the sensitivity and usefulness of electrodiagnostic testing in detecting neural damage from new formulations.

Development and optimization of hot-melt extruded moxifloxacin hydrochloride inserts, for ocular applications, using the design of experiments

Ruchi Thakkar et al.

Summary: This study successfully formulated sustained-release ocular inserts of moxifloxacin hydrochloride and demonstrated their stability and sustained release properties through experiments. The results suggest that the inserts could potentially allow for once-a-day application and serve as an alternative delivery system in managing bacterial infections.
