Solvent-Free Polycaprolactone Dissolving Microneedles Generated via the Thermal Melting Method for the Sustained Release of Capsaicin

Summary: A novel separable polycaprolactone (PCL) dissolving microneedle system (SPCL-DMNs) was developed for sustained drug release by implanting PCL-encapsulated drugs into the skin. The optimized SPCL-DMNs demonstrated sustained release of capsaicin in porcine skin for up to 15 days, showing potential for future development of toxicity-free, sustained release microneedles.
