Ischemia-reperfusion Injury in the Transplanted Lung: A Literature Review

Tara Talaie et al.

Summary: Lung ischemia-reperfusion injury (LIRI) and primary graft dysfunction are major factors contributing to morbidity and mortality in lung transplant recipients. Despite extensive research efforts, there is still a lack of effective preventative and therapeutic treatments. Innovative strategies are required to improve outcomes in lung transplantation.
