PRAME expression in 155 cases of metastatic melanoma

Sarah E. Gradecki et al.

Summary: PRAME is highly expressed in metastatic melanoma, with lymph node metastases more likely to show lower expression compared to other sites. PRAME is a useful tool for confirming the diagnosis of melanoma in a metastatic setting, both in nodal and visceral deposits.

PRAME immunohistochemistry as an adjunct for diagnosis and histological margin assessment in lentigo maligna

Sarah E. Gradecki et al.

Summary: PRAME IHC is a sensitive (93.5%) and specific (94.7%) method for diagnosing LM on biopsy and excision, and measurement of histological margins by PRAME shows a high correlation with conventional methods for margin assessment. The nuclear expression of PRAME makes it a good target for use in dual-color IHC stains.

The utility of PRAME staining in identifying malignant transformation of melanocytic nevi

Mary E. Lohman et al.

Summary: PRAME immunohistochemical staining shows a high rate (67%) of differential staining in benign and malignant melanocyte populations in nevus-associated melanoma. In PRAME positive (4+) melanomas, it can differentiate 100% of benign and malignant melanocyte populations, indicating a sensitivity of 67% and a specificity of 100%.
