Exploring the Emerging Role of the Gut Microbiota and Tumor Microenvironment in Cancer Immunotherapy

Qin Qiu et al.

Summary: The tumor microenvironment plays a crucial role in tumor development and response to immunotherapy, while the gut microbiome is known to impact cancer progression and treatment efficacy.

Determination and Application of Nineteen Monoamines in the Gut Microbiota Targeting Phenylalanine, Tryptophan, and Glutamic Acid Metabolic Pathways

Shu-Rong Ma et al.

Summary: The study focused on three neurotransmitter pathways and established an analytical method for quantifying 19 monoamine neurotransmitters and related metabolites in gut microbiota. The results showed the presence of neurotransmitters like dopamine and 5-HT in gut microbiota, with disrupted tryptophan metabolism in depression. Certain antidepressants were found to have regulatory potential on these pathways in gut microbiota.

Norepinephrine inhibits migration and invasion of human glioblastoma cell cultures possibly via MMP-11 inhibition

Jing Zhong et al.

Summary: The study found that norepinephrine can effectively inhibit the migration and invasion of human glioblastoma cells, possibly by decreasing the expression of MMP-11. In U251 cells, beta-adrenergic receptor may regulate this effect.

Oral berberine improves brain dopa/dopamine levels to ameliorate Parkinson's disease by regulating gut microbiota

Yan Wang et al.

Summary: Oral berberine may enhance dopamine production in the brain by promoting the generation of l-dopa through gut bacteria. Combining berberine with bacteria shows better therapeutic effects than using bacteria alone.
