Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for Improving Cognitive Function in Patients With Mild Cognitive Impairment: A Systematic Review

Lijuan Jiang et al.

Summary: The meta-analysis revealed that rTMS may significantly improve global cognitive function and memory in patients with MCI. Effects were more pronounced with high-frequency rTMS, targeting both hemispheres and with a high number of treatment sessions. However, no significant improvement was found in executive function and attention. Additionally, rTMS was associated with a higher rate of mild adverse effects, while dropout rates did not significantly differ between rTMS and control groups.

Glymphatic Cerebrospinal Fluid and Solute Transport Quantified by

Helene Benveniste et al.

Summary: In the past decade, significant progress has been made in understanding fluid and solute transport in the CNS, thanks to advancements in imaging technology and computational fluid dynamics analysis. This paper reviews the technical aspects of DCE-MRI and Gd-based tracers for tracking glymphatic transport in the CNS, providing new insights into biophysical forces governing solute transport and drainage pathways.

Meningeal lymphatics affect microglia responses and anti-Aβ immunotherapy

Sandro Da Mesquita et al.

Summary: The study found that the disappearance of meningeal lymphatic vessels worsened the outcomes of AD mice receiving immunotherapy targeting Aβ. However, therapeutic delivery of vascular endothelial growth factor C improved Aβ clearance. The gene signature of microglia with impaired meningeal lymphatic function in mice overlapped substantially with the transcriptional profile of activated microglia in AD patients.
