Chicken feathers derived materials for the removal of chromium from aqueous solutions: kinetics, isotherms, thermodynamics and regeneration studies

Rupa Chakraborty et al.

Summary: In this study, chicken feathers were used as a bio-adsorbent for the removal of Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solutions. The adsorbent exhibited high surface area and microporous structure. The Langmuir adsorption model provided the best fit for the experimental data. The thermodynamics data showed that the adsorption process was endothermic and spontaneous. The chicken feathers showed good desorption efficiency and reusability.
