Constitutive modeling of flow stress and work hardening behavior while considering dynamic strain aging

Han Chen et al.

Summary: The study proposed a modified constitutive relationship considering dynamic strain aging (DSA) to model the flow stress and work hardening behavior of alloys, showing that DSA has a significant impact on flow stress and work hardening rate, with increases of up to 9% and 14% respectively. The research quantifies the influence of DSA on flow stress and work hardening rate during deformation, providing insight into the mechanical behavior of materials with DSA.

The influence of nanosized precipitates on Portevin-Le Chatelier bands and surface roughness in AlMgScZr alloy

Yaoxiang Duan et al.

Summary: The influence of different precipitate-dislocation interactions on PLC bands and surface roughness in AlMgScZr alloy was investigated. Shearable precipitates were found to decrease the number of PLC bands and surface roughness, providing guidance for designing structural materials with desirable mechanical property and surface quality.

Experimental and modelling assessment of ductility in a precipitation hardening AlMgScZr alloy

Han Chen et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of precipitation on ductility in precipitation hardening aluminium alloys. The results showed that the ductility decreases when shearable precipitates occur, and increases with shearable precipitates being replaced by nonshearable precipitates. The variation in ductility is mainly controlled by the dynamic recovery rate of the dislocations.

Complexity analysis of the Portevin-Le Chatelier in an Al alloy at different temperatures

Jianfei Xu et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the complexity of the PLC effect in an Al alloy at different temperatures using modified multiscale entropy. The entropy showed three evolutions with scale factor, corresponding to different types of serrations. The sample entropy initially increased and then decreased with temperature, opposite to the critical strain, indicating different types of serrations.
