Optimal Design Based on Fabricated SiC/B4C/Porcelain Filled Aluminium Alloy Matrix Composite Using Hybrid AHP/CRITIC-COPRAS Approach

Amit Aherwar et al.

Summary: In this study, SiC, B4C and waste porcelain reinforced AA7075 alloy composites were fabricated using a stir casting approach. Different formulations were analyzed for physical, mechanical, corrosion and tribological performances, with the composite containing 7.5 wt.% B4C showing the highest mechanical strength. The study utilized a novel hybrid AHP/CRITIC-COPRAS method to select the optimal material for automotive components, determining that the AA7075 containing 7.5 wt.% porcelain composite is the best solution.

Tribo-Mechanical characterization of carbonized coconut shell micro particle reinforced with Cissus quadrangularis stem fiber/epoxy novel composite for structural application

Iyyadurai Jenish et al.

Summary: This article investigates the mechanical and tribological properties of Cissus quadrangularis stem fiber (CQSF)/epoxy resin particulate with the addition of coconut shell ash (CSA) powder. The study analyzes the tribological characteristics using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and calculates the specific wear rate of the materials under different experimental conditions. The results show that CQSF/epoxy composite with the appropriate addition of CSA powder has improved tensile strength, flexural strength, hardness, and impact strength.

Microstructure and wear mechanisms investigation on the brake pad

Nagwa Elzayady et al.

Summary: The study investigated wear mechanisms of different brake pads, finding that compounds with graphite lubricant exhibit better wear and friction properties. Real brake pads showed abrasive phases and corrosive layers, while graphite-free samples had abrasive and fatigue-related wear, and those with graphite had glazed surfaces as the dominant wear mode. The diffusion of graphite lubricant on the pad surface formed a protective film, reducing aggressive friction and enhancing adhesion forces.

A multi-criteria decision making method based on DNMA and CRITIC with linguistic D numbers for blockchain platform evaluation

Han Lai et al.

Summary: This study proposes a comprehensive method to address challenges in blockchain platform evaluation, including information uncertainty, multiple criteria types, and inter-criteria correlations. By integrating LDNs, DNMA, and CRITIC methods, the proposed approach effectively captures decision-making information, reduces information loss, and identifies important criteria in the decision-making process.

Novel Muntingia Calabura bark fi ber reinforced green-epoxy composite: A sustainable and green material for cleaner production

A. Vinod et al.

Summary: This study focused on developing and enhancing the properties of novel Muntingia calabura bark micro-fiber reinforced bio-epoxy composite through surface modification techniques using NaOH and silane. The results showed that the modified fibers had improved characteristics compared to raw fibers, with silane treatment being more effective. This novel plant fiber has the potential to be an environmentally friendly and sustainable resource for reinforcement in polymer composites.
