Self-Supported Nickel Phosphide Electrode for Efficient Alkaline Water-to-Hydrogen Conversion via Urea Electrolysis

Liangshuang Fei et al.

Summary: This study presents a three-dimensional nickel phosphide/nickel foam electrode prepared through low-temperature phosphorization treatment, which enhances the activity for urea oxidation reaction with a low potential requirement and satisfactory hydrogen evolution reaction performance. The two-electrode electrolyzer system with the obtained P-NF as a bifunctional electrocatalyst can deliver 10 mA cm(-2) at a cell voltage of only 1.37 V, showing remarkable operational stability.

Effects of anode materials on the performance and anode microbial community of soil microbial fuel cell

Bao Yu et al.

Summary: The study found that the SMFC with graphite felt as the anode performed well in terms of bioelectricity output and pollutant removal, which can be attributed to the conductivity of the material. The surface structure of the anode material also influences the internal resistance of the battery and the abundance of microbial communities.
