Boosting photocatalytic hydrogen production from water by photothermally induced biphase systems

Summary: The study introduces an efficient biphase photocatalytic system composed of integrated photothermal-photocatalytic materials using charred wood substrates to convert liquid water to water steam and split hydrogen under light illumination without additional energy. This system significantly reduces the interface barrier and greatly lowers the transport resistance of hydrogen gas, achieving an impressive hydrogen production rate in particulate photocatalytic systems.
