Organ-on-chip (OoC) technology is thriving due to the availability of stem cells and international OoC programs. Coordinated standardization, qualification, and independent testing of devices are needed to further develop OoC technology and maximize its potential in drug development, disease modeling, and personalized medicine. The OoC roadmap can guide the way forward.
