Experimental investigation of underwater locally multi-resonant metamaterials under high hydrostatic pressure for low frequency sound absorption

Summary: This research introduced an underwater acoustic metamaterial capable of absorbing broadband low-frequency underwater sound under high hydrostatic pressure. Through local resonance modes, strong coupling, and multiple scattering effects among harmonic oscillators, the absorption band was significantly widened, demonstrating the effectiveness and superior sound absorption performance of the proposed acoustic metamaterial under high hydrostatic pressure conditions.

Underwater sound absorption properties of polydimethylsiloxane/carbon nanotube composites with steel plate backing

Summary: This study focuses on enhancing underwater acoustic properties by adding carboxyl functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes into polydimethylsiloxane, and conducting experiments under different hydrostatic pressures. Results show that introducing surfactant and MWCNT-COOH can significantly improve underwater sound absorption coefficient under normal pressure.
